During an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said that former President Donald Trump has full authority to revoke executive orders issued by the Biden administration that were signed via autopen.
Trump had announced on Truth Social that all documents signed by Biden using the autopen are now void, stating that “any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with the autopen, which was about 92% of them, is hereby terminated and of no further force or effect.”
Guest host Jason Chaffetz noted that most autopen signatures were not related to public laws but involved pardons. He highlighted that some individuals convicted of violent crimes, including murder, had their sentences reduced or were released, raising questions about whether Biden had directly authorized these actions.
Rep. Comer said that investigations found no evidence that President Biden was personally involved in the pardon process. According to Comer, members of Biden’s inner circle, except for Jeff Zients, could not confirm that Biden had instructed or discussed these actions. Comer suggested there may have been a deliberate effort to keep Biden out of the process, emphasizing that he was not actively involved.
