While many employees might expect only a small box of chocolates or a token gift from their boss at Christmas, one UK manager has gone above and beyond, spending a staggering £100,000 on gifts for his staff – including a Range Rover, luxury holidays, and the latest tech gadgets.
Benjy Leslie, CEO of the major social-first agency Connect Management, launched this festive initiative, called the “Santa Leslie Incentive.” Since November, Leslie has been selecting an employee and salesperson of the day to pick a prize from a large tombola set up in the office. The display includes numbered envelopes and wrapped gifts, ranging from kitchen appliances and Apple gadgets to concert tickets, Lego sets, and even high-end vehicles.
One of the most remarkable moments came when Chloe, a new employee who had only been with the company a few months, won a white Range Rover Evoque, complete with the keys and a one-year car insurance package. Chloe described the car as “gorgeous” and said she could hardly believe her luck. A video of her reaction, shared on Connect Management’s TikTok page, has reached nearly one million views, with viewers expressing amazement and admiration for Leslie’s generosity. Many commented on wanting to apply for jobs at the company, with some joking that they must be in the wrong job if they weren’t receiving gifts like these.
Chloe wasn’t the only lucky winner. Other employees received tickets to see Olivia Dean, brand new iPhones, scooters, Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses, AirPods Pro Max, Osmo cameras, LED beauty masks, Lego sets, holiday packages, and a range of other luxurious gifts.
Leslie explained that the initiative is meant to reward employees for their hard work over the year and create a festive, exciting atmosphere. Many staff members expressed their gratitude, saying they felt valued and motivated to continue contributing to the company’s success.
The story of Leslie’s generosity has captured public attention and praise, being seen as an inspiring example of leadership that recognizes and rewards employees. In a time when many feel underappreciated in their workplaces, Leslie’s approach demonstrates how thoughtful and meaningful rewards can significantly boost staff morale and motivation.
