THIS IS RICH: the world’s last trilionaire spent YEARS whining that George Soros is buying American elections.Then he went out and outspent Soros’s entire lifetime of political giving in about two years.Musk dumped more than $290 million into the 2024 election to put Don the Con back in the White House. Now he’s poured roughly $446 million more into the midterms, according to a Washington Post analysis of FEC filings.
That makes him the biggest individual political donor in modern American history.
A chart tracking federal, state and local contributions puts Musk’s total near $759 million. Soros, the man Republicans have spent 20 years turning into a cartoon villain, sits at about $624 million since 2004.Soros needed two decades to get there. Musk passed him in two years.
This is the same guy who claimed Soros “hates humanity” and wants “the destruction of western civilization.” He even called himself the “George Soros of the middle.”There is nothing middle about $446 million for Republicans.
The money is flooding Senate races in Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Maine, plus more than 30 House districts, paying for mailers warning that “The Socialist Left is Destroying America.”Last year, after his messy breakup with Dear Leader, Musk said he was done spending on politics. “I think I’ve done enough,” he said.Apparently not.
It’s going to be so satisfying to watch him have spent all this money just to lose in races across the country!
